A state of emergency has been declared in Canada’s capital metropolis, Ottawa, in response to greater than per week of truckers’ protests in opposition to Covid restrictions.
The protests adopted a vaccine mandate applied by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s authorities earlier this month for truckers crossing the US-Canada border.
The mayor of Canada’s capital Jim Watson mentioned the town was “dropping this battle” and “fully uncontrolled”.
The Freedom Convoy protest, which has unfold to different cities, has now morphed into broader challenges to Covid well being restrictions.
