Lethal landslides wreak havoc in Petrópolis, Brazil – BBC Information
Nearly 100 individuals have died in landslides and flash flooding within the Brazilian metropolis of Petrópolis, officers say.
The town, which is situated within the mountains north of Rio de Janeiro, was hit by torrential rainfall.
Homes in hillside neighbourhoods have been destroyed and vehicles swept away as floodwaters raced by means of the town’s streets.
Search and rescue groups are combing the mud for survivors.
