The sport utility vehicle (SUV) is a golden or pale grey GMC Envoy from the mid-2000s, police said in a news release on Thursday. “When observed, the vehicle had no licence plate,” the release added.

Anyone with information about the vehicle or the identity of its owner was asked to contact the Gatineau police information line at 819-243-4636, ext. 5.

The robberies linked to the investigation included:

April 19, approximately 1:45 a.m. — A suspect threatened a customer at 866 Maloney Blvd. E. to steal money he had just won playing a video lottery game. The victim received injuries that were not life-threatening.

April 29, shortly before 11 a.m. — An individual entered 321 Main St. and demanded the contents of a cash drawer.

May 5, approximately 11:30 p.m. — An individual showed up at 825 Maloney Blvd. E. and stole an undetermined amount of money.

May 24, approximately 9:30 p.m. — Another robbery was committed by an individual at 825 Maloney Blvd.

In all four cases, the suspect allegedly used what appeared to be a handgun to threaten his victims, police said, and certain factors “tend to show that they could be linked.”

All four robberies occurred in licensed establishments with video lottery terminals available to customers, police added.
