Lava from an erupting volcano on Spain’s La Palma island has reached the Atlantic Ocean, elevating fears of poisonous gases being launched and explosions.

Clouds of white steam have been seen rising as a red-hot present made contact with the water within the Playa Nueva space. This might set off a chemical response which may irritate the pores and skin and eyes and have an effect on respiration.

Tons of of houses have been destroyed for the reason that Cumbre Vieja volcano within the Canary Islands erupted on 19 September.

About 6,000 folks have been evacuated, because the lava was engulfing homes, faculties and a few banana plantations.
