A Donald Trump-style election campaign flag has been reappropriated to look like Taylor Swift was running for president this year.

The flag was spotted at the Buffalo Bills game on Sunday, which the singer attended to watch her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, help the Kansas City Chiefs get one step closer to another Super Bowl with a 27-24 win over the home team.

NBC sports reporter McKenzie Nelson spotted the flag, which bore the trademark blue background and thin red border of the Trump flag. The white text read, “Taylor Swift 2024,” and was sandwiched between some white stars.

“Bills fans can be #Swifties too,” Nelson captioned a photo of the flag, which she shared to X, formerly Twitter.

The response to Nelson’s photo was mixed, with one person simply replying “cringe.” Another person posted, “That’s weird,” and a third wrote: “I guess it’s better than seeing the death threat I saw against Taylor the all week.”

As the Chiefs beat the Bills on Sunday, Swift watched on with Kelce’s brother and Philadelphia Eagles player, Jason Kelce, who went viral for swigging Bud Light topless behind the singer. Jason ripped off his shirt in celebration after his younger brother scored a touchdown in the second quarter, his first in eight games.

Kelce scored two touchdowns in the game, so helping him and quarterback Patrick Mahomes surpass Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski’s record of touchdown connections in NFL history.

As for Trump and his 2024 presidential campaign, despite already being a clear frontrunner for the Republican ticket, his chances were further bolstered after his main rival Ron DeSantis dropped out of the race. The Florida governor announced a suspension to his campaign and endorsed Trump for the 2024 presidency.

“I am today suspending my campaign,” DeSantis said in a video on Sunday, less than two days before the New Hampshire primary election. “I’m proud to have delivered on 100 percent of my promises and I will not stop now.

“It’s clear to me that a majority of Republican primary voters wanna give Donald Trump another chance. They’ve watched his presidency get stymied by relentless resistance, and they see Democrats use lawfare to this day to attack him,” DeSantis added.

Trump’s main rival for the Republican nomination is former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley.

Swift, who regularly encourages her fans to enrol to vote, has not yet weighed in on the next presidential election, but she did endorse Democrat Joe Biden in 2020.
