US and Russia conflict over Ukraine at UN Safety Council – BBC Information
There have been indignant clashes between Russian and US envoys on the UN Safety Council, after the US known as a gathering to debate Moscow’s troop build-up on its borders with Ukraine.
US Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield stated the mobilisation was the most important Europe had seen in a long time. Her Russian counterpart accused the US of ‘unacceptable interference in Russia’s affairs.’
The US and UK have promised additional sanctions if Russia invades Ukraine.
However there may be some hope of avoiding battle because the US experiences that they’ve obtained a letter from Russia addressing their deescalation proposals.
