Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen sent a new letter to House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and other congressional leaders on Friday saying they now expect the U.S. to default on its debts on June 5 instead of June 1, giving the White House and House GOP a few more days to land on an agreement.
