Greater than 1,000 Afghan troopers have fled to neighbouring Tajikistan after clashing with Taliban militants, officers have stated.
The troops retreated over the border to “save their very own lives”, in keeping with an announcement by Tajikistan’s border guard.
The surge coincides with the top of Nato’s 20-year army mission within the nation.
The overwhelming majority of remaining overseas forces in Afghanistan have been withdrawn forward of a September deadline, and there are issues that the Afghan army will collapse.
