Anger grows after Indian military’s botched ambush killed civilians – BBC Information
After Indian safety forces killed at the least 14 civilians in a botched ambush close to the Myanmar border, their family members are left indignant.
A military patrol mistakenly opened fireplace on miners returning house after work, killing six males. Eight extra civilians and an Indian soldier died when indignant locals confronted troops.
This was the deadliest spell of violence in years in Nagaland, which has lengthy been roiled by an insurgency led by native militant teams.
India’s house minister Amit Shah has expressed “deep anguish” over the killings. However Mr Shah’s assertion in parliament, that the military fired as a result of the truck carrying the villagers tried to hurry away when requested to cease, has angered protesters much more.
