Needing a win to clinch the Bundesliga title, Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala scored in the 89th minute to break a 1–1 tie vs. FC Köln, giving Bayern the lead and eventually the win.

Entering the final day of the season, Borussia Dortmund led Bayern by two points, but needed another win to secure the title since Bayern had the tiebreak. Dortmund playing to a 2–2 draw vs. Mainz left the door open for Bayern to take the title with the win.

That is when Musiala scored late in the team’s final match for his 12th, and most important, goal of the season.

The win marks the 11th straight season, and 12th time in the last 14 seasons, that Bayern has won the Bundesliga title. The last team besides Bayern to take the crown was Dortmund, which repeated as Bundesliga champions in 2011 and ’12.

In total, Bayern has now won 32 Bundesliga titles, well clear of second place, which is a tie between Dortmund and Borussia Mönchengladbach with five.

Bayern’s win came despite switching managers in March, as Thomas Tuchel replaced Julian Nagelsmann. Tuchel is already signed to lead the team through the 2025 season.
