Bijan Robinson Remains Perfect on Wild NCAA Bracket

The NCAA Tournament is currently ongoing, and goes by the apt name of “March Madness.” The reasoning behind this name has everything to do with how wild and unpredictable guessing which teams will win can be.

To put the guessing into perspective, ESPN reported that 0.008% of brackets out of 22 million are still going after a wild first day of upsets. One of the few 0.008% bracket holders is Atlanta Falcons’ RB Bijan Robinson.

Bijan Robinson was named on the official NCAA March Madness X page, which led to a comment by the man himself.

Robinson stated, “Perfect day 1 haha kinda dope.” We think that his perfect guessing is a touch more than just “dope.” It is hard to guess correctly amongst the staggering 68 teams that enter the NCAA Tournament.

To make matters worse, several upsets happened yesterday, prompting a ridiculous amount of brackets to immediately lose.

For instance, #14 seed Oakland knocked out #3 seed Kentucky. Kentucky was also ranked as the #2 seed in 2022 and was knocked out by the #15 seed.

Kentucky fans and people who chose them in the bracket could likely be punching the air after watching the fall to a much lesser opponent.

Another upset occurred when #11 seed NC State took down #6 seed Texas Tech.

The probability of guessing right can be astronomically high as well. According to NCAA.com, the probability of guessing a perfect NCAA Tournament bracket “can be as high as 1 in 9.2 quintillion.”

This should make Robinson’s feat even more impressive. As shared above with ESPN’s graphic, he is part of the 0.008% of people who have guessed right so far.

This begs the question as to whether or not Robinson knows college basketball that well, or he just randomly guessed like the rest of us generally do. Either way, he has achieved something quite improbable already.

The NCAA Tournament is always full of upsets, and there will be many more to come. Most people often pick the higher-seeded teams to beat the lower-seeded teams out of habit, but that is never the correct course to take. Robinson guessing Oakland would take down Kentucky is wild in and of itself.

Robinson was named to the PFWA All-Rookie team after securing 976 yards and 4 TDs while rushing and 487 yards and 4 TDs while receiving in the 2023 season. Robinson has impressed everyone with his standout rookie year, and it appears being a skillful RB isn’t his only strength.

We imagine Robinson will be adding “Perfect NCAA Tournament bracket selector” to his illustrious resume, should his miraculous picks continue to be correct.
