In an unique interview with BBC Newsnight, Bridget Riley, one of many UK’s most famed artists, has instructed Kirsty Wark, ” I held a mirror as much as human nature and reported faithfully.”

Describing artwork and the way it has contributed to her understanding of the world, Riley says artists have “borne witness” to society’s “altering circumstances and occasions, to horrors and in addition to to wonders.”

As some of the vital artists of the twentieth and twenty first century, 90-year-old Riley says she’s “hoping” her work has made a contribution to “order, stability and the enjoyment of residing.”
