Brunette Woman Reveals How Dyeing Her Hair Blonde Was ‘Cheat Code to Life’

It is often believed that blondes have more fun, but one woman says there are many more perks to having fair hair.

In a viral video shared on February 2 by influencer Becca Moore (@becccamooore), she says that “being blonde is a cheat code to life.” Moore adds that dyeing her hair from brunette to blonde has changed her entire life and she hopes to encourage other people thinking about it to do the same. The clip has amassed more than 2.5 million views and over 346,000 likes on TikTok.

Sitting in her bedroom, the young woman looks into the camera while explaining exactly how her hair has transformed her life, for the better. Moore begins by showing two photos of herself with dark brown hair and says the challenges she faced as a brunette who doesn’t “know that much.” She adds that life is harder and even says her college work was impacted by her hair color.

Now, people automatically assume she doesn’t know that much and give her an easier time. She then tells her 1.3 million followers a story about going into a man’s car at a McDonald’s drive-thru because she forgot to hit the brakes. However, she was pleasantly surprised by the driver’s calm reaction.

Moore concludes the clip by saying: “I don’t think it has to specifically be blonde hair. I think it’s more about finding the hair color that looks good for your skin tone. But your goal should always be people’s expectations of you; should be on the floor. The bar should be on the floor [and then] that way anything you do [will be celebrated].”

In Hollywood, many movies wouldn’t be the same without a blonde woman who lacks common sense. There was Amanda Seyfried who played Karen, a ditsy blonde in the original Mean Girls film in 2004 and also Reese Witherspoon in the 2001 movie Legally Blonde.

However, in real life, blondes aren’t really dumb; it is a myth as proved by an Ohio State University study. The survey of 10,878 Americans found that white women who said their natural hair color was blonde had an average IQ score within 3 points of brunettes and those with red or black hair. However, the blonde stereotype lives on, as mentioned by Moore.

So far, the video has more than 3,340 comments, and some people have written that being blonde comes with privileges.

One comment read: “Blonde here. I was accidentally driving on the wrong side of the road. A cop pulled me over and warned me that a drunk driver could have hit me.”

Another user posted: “This ties back to the Paris Hilton lore… a genius in disguise.”

A third commenter added: “It’s true- I used to be blonde and it’s so different! I miss the perks!!”
