Caitlyn Jenner is doubling down on her comments about O.J. Simpson. After facing backlash online following her blunt remarks on X, formerly known as Twitter, about Simpson’s death on April 11, where she posted, “Good Riddance #OJSimpson” shortly after the announcement of his passing at age 76, the Olympian defended herself again on the platform.

Jenner, 74, expressed frustration with comparisons being made between her involvement in a fatal multi-vehicle car crash in 2015, which resulted in the death of 69-year-old Kimberly Howe, and the murder accusations faced by Simpson.

“I know you all think it’s cute to compare a fatal car accident (with multiple vehicles involved) to a BRUTAL MURDER… But Remember… O.J. said something to the effect of… I could kill her (Nicole) and get away with it bc I’m #OJSimpson,” she stated defensively on X, formerly known as Twitter, quoting her original post.

The car crash led to Jenner reaching an $800,000 settlement with the Howe family, though she was never criminally charged. One X user pointedly remarked, “I’m sure the family of that person you ran over, can’t WAIT to say the same about you!”

The reality tv star quickly faced even more backlash from internet users, met with more comments like, “YOU still were the CAUSE of the accident and YOU were the CAUSE of someone’s DEATH AND paid your way out of it. No THAT isn’t cute at all. Hypocrite” and “I love how you said multiple vehicles as if that distributes the blame when they all wrecked because of YOU.”

Jenner’s history with Simpson dates back to their former friendship, which soured following Simpson’s 1994 arrest for the murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman. Though he was acquitted in a criminal trial in 1995, O.J. was later found liable in a subsequent civil case. Nicole Brown Simpson was a close friend of Jenner’s then-wife, Kris Jenner, whose first husband, Robert Kardashian, was part of Simpson’s defense team.

Jenner recently followed up her post with another one, stating that she’s “Living for the replies/comments” followed by a bunch of laughing emojis.
