In a video shared to Instagram, a couple can be seen building a miniature replica of their old couch for their cat Beebs, with the same color, fabric and design, after the feline lost its “favorite” one.

In the viral video, which was posted to the social media platform last month under the username @interiormotivehome, the text overlay reads: “This is a story about our cat Beebs, and this was her favorite couch. But unfortunately we had to get rid of it, and she was confused where to lay. But we had a plan! We decided to build her a realistic mini couch. We used our curtain fabric for the upholstery, and tufted the cushions to remind her of the old couch. And guess what? She fell in love.”

The feline’s owner told Newsweek that they had to get rid of their old couch because Beebs herself destroyed it, adding that “also we moved into a house and felt like it was time to change it up!”

Beebs is a 13-year-old mini cat with a big personality, with her owner adding that his partner was actually there when she was born, although she went to three other homes before he finally decided to take her in.

“She was the runt of her litter and a needy little baby. Beebs enjoys warm sun spots on the floor, chewing on random plastic she shouldn’t be, knocking water glasses off tables, laying on your lap, standing on Chris’ shoulders, and sitting on things not meant for her,” he said.

According to the owner, because Beebs loved the velvet texture of their old mustard couch, she decided to make it her own, by turning it into a scratching post.

“We decided to purchase an additional set of curtains that we had for our living room so that the couch would feel like it was integrated into the new living room space perfectly. The curtains were velvet, and we were hoping she would be just as attracted to the curtain fabric as she was to the original couch, and that it would keep her off of our new leather sofas.”

They initially didn’t know how Beebs would feel about the new miniature furniture, but she adores it.

“As long as we keep moving it around our house so it feels like something new, we think it’ll continue to be her new favorite sitting spot,” her owner added.

A couch is a very important piece of furniture for a cat because that’s where they like to nap most. According to the Sleep Foundation, more than half of cats sleep an average of 12 to 18 hours a day and nearly 40 percent sleep even more, especially older ones.
