A social media video that captures a cat’s disgruntled expression after being fed her meal half an hour later than usual has left the internet in hysterics.

The viral video, which has been viewed more than 3.1 million times since it was first shared to TikTok on February 27, filmed the cat sitting at a distance from her owner with an unimpressed look on her face.

“When my cat is fed 30 minutes late and acts like she’s in an ASPCA commercial,” the cat’s owner said.

The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) is a nation-wide non-profit organization that aims to prevent the cruel treatment of any animals. The ASPCA frequently commissions commercials to raise donations that can fund its continued care of domestic animals in need.

The post was captioned: “The slow blinking transition from 😑 to 🥺 tho.”

The cat, who is named Suki, has over 15,000 followers on the TikTok account that had been created to share her daily antics and funny moments.

According to PetMD, pets can have long-term memories and can even forge memories about their daily routines and feeding schedules.

The pet health and advice site shared information from Dr. Jenna Sansolo, an associate veterinarian at Ardsley Veterinary Associates in New York, on its website.

“There are many examples of cats and dogs having long-term memory in both studies and in real-life events,” she said.

“For instance, when pet owners go on vacations and come home to dogs that show the same excitement a human child would show after not seeing their family for the same amount of time, or the countless videos of dogs whose owners come home from military deployments that are all over the internet.”
