This week, we have seen a cat put under “house arrest” over aggressive behavior toward groomers and the way another feline stole the show at their owner’s house party. We have also been on the hunt for showstopping animals to feature in our weekly Pet of the Week.
Whether you have a well-behaved dachshund or a troublesome tortoise, we want to feature our readers’ pets in our lineup.

Winner
Miguel and Michelle Gilly
This week’s winner is Monkey, an indoor cat who lives with owners Miguel and Michelle Gilly.
“Monkey is an inside cat,” Miguel told Newsweek. And, as a result of his indoor lifestyle, he has developed a habit that always brings a smile to his owners’ faces.
“Instead of bringing us gifts of rodents or birds, he chooses to bring us random furniture,” said Miguel.
In a video shared with Newsweek, Monkey’s skills are clear—he wraps something around the furniture before dragging it diligently to his owners.
“[He is] such a character,” Miguel said. “We love him so.”
Finalists
Siara Lynn Ramos
Our first finalist this week is Creed, a 3-year-old black-and-white French bulldog who loves to snuggle and play fetch.
Living in upstate New York, Creed will turn 4 on March 31.
“He loves to take long walks in the park and play with children,” his owner Siara Lynn Ramos told Newsweek.
When it comes to food, Creed is clear about his likes and dislikes, too. “He dislikes carrots and peas, but greatly enjoys bananas and blueberries,” Ramos said.
Marilyn Wells
Our next finalist this week is the much-loved Drayley—also known as Dray Dray or Spoiled Princess Pup by Marilyn Wells, who purchased the pup for her granddaughter.
“She believes all blankets in the house are hers to command,” Wells told Newsweek.
“No matter where in the house you try and snuggle under a blanket to watch a show or read, she comes flying and roots and squirms until the silly human realizes its hers,” Wells said.
At 9 years old, it is clear that Drayley enjoys her pampered lifestyle: “She identifies as a human princess and prefers to not be considered as a dog,” added Wells.
Lee Ryan Owens
Last but not least this week is Sydney, a mixed-breed dog who was initially fostered from an animal shelter by owner Lee Ryan Owens.
“As foster failures, we added Sydney to our herd. We couldn’t let her go,” Owens told Newsweek.
Now, Sydney rules the roost with her four fur-siblings. Alongside a picture of her donning a stylish sheriff’s hat, her owner said that Sydney is the newest sheriff in town.
“She keeps a keen eye out during the daytime, ensuring no birds or squirrels come too close,” said Owens. “At night, she’s a sentry watching for signs of opossums or raccoons in her yard.”
