A cat’s opposite personalities have left social media viewers laughing after his owner shared a video of his latest shenanigans.

In a March post on TikTok, under the account name the nimbus_siberian, the cat can be seen showing two completely different personalities in less than a minute. The first half of the clip shows “Nimbus’s zoomies,” where he’s running up and down the furniture like crazy, while the second half shows “Nimbus’s meows,” or his sweet side.

The hilarious video quickly went viral online and has a caption that says: “Sometimes he needs some WD40.”

Getting the zoomies every now and then is normal for cats, but what’s the reason for these sudden energy bursts? Pet wellness experts at Hill’s Pet Nutrition point to three explanations.

First is their sleeping habits. Considering that cats sleep an average of 12 to 16 hours a day, it makes sense for them to be this energetic after waking up.

The zoomies could also be due to their hunting instincts. Even though domestic cats don’t have to hunt to survive, they still have predatory instincts and may sometimes chase “imaginary prey.”

Last but not least, the zoomies may be a way for your cat to celebrate bowel movements, especially those that were particularly uncomfortable.

The video quickly went viral and has so far received over 4.7 million views and 545,800 likes.

One user, River_Severn_, commented: “The Nimbus 2000 was always meant to be a wild ride.” And bbbowie2369 said: “When he peeks at you up over his fur, is my absolute favorite part of all these videos.”

Libby wrote: “Omg the heavy metal background music is PERFECT FOR HIS ZOOMIES.” And Rassle said: “I was showing my cat nimbus and he meowed at the end.”

Another user, Dre, commented: “My cat is older now and doesn’t get zoomies really often and when he does it’s for a minute. Enjoy those moments.”

Dev boi said: “The little meows are the blow off valves relieving pressure.” And comslab added: “You can’t convince me that those are the same cats.”

Newsweek reached out to nimbus_siberian for comment via email and could not verify the details of the case.
