Charlotte Cardin, the Juno-winning pride of Montreal, will headline the opening night of this year’s Gatineau Hot Air Balloon Festival, which runs from Aug. 29 to Sept. 2 at La Baie Park.

The show will be her third appearance in the Ottawa area in 2024, following two sold-out concerts at TD Place in February. Her latest album, 99 Nights, won the Juno Awards for best pop album, and best album.

The festival is traditionally Gatineau’s biggest event of the year, attracting more than 200,000 visitors over the Labour Day long weekend. In addition to live music on three stages, it features a daily display of colourful hot-air balloons and a carnival of amusement rides.

Other artists confirmed to perform include Quebec rocker Jonathan Roy, The Voice contender Dave Fenley, internationally renowned singer Isabelle Boulay and Ottawa-Gatineau’s Mehdi Cayenne.

A presale runs until April 14, with discounted, five-day passes available for $49.99 and daily passes for $29.99. Passes for carnival rides and camping are extra. You can also book hot-air balloon rides during the festival ($395 per passenger) and get a free five-day pass with each booking.

Children aged 2 to 10 are eligible for free admission to the festival when accompanied by an adult with a pass.
