Confusion as Man Goes to the Store, Finds His Cat Inside

A feline has taken the meaning behind “curious cat” to a whole new level after he was caught following his owner in a hilarious TikTok video.

The viral video, which was posted on February 16 by user @brianbeck101, showed the cat peeking out from underneath the shelves of the store. Some people are used to bodega cats milling around the store, but the person in the aisle knew this was not the store’s cat. It was his cat.

The text on the video reads: “When you realize your cat covertly followed you to the store.”

He was slightly confused about how his cat managed to pull off the journey to the store. The owner told Newsweek that the store is about a quarter mile away from their home. That’s quite the distance for a little cat with little legs.

When the owner realized it was his cat who snuck into the store, he quickly bent down to pick up the cat. And luckily he did it fast because if not, well, let’s just say this cat was on a mission.

The cat tried to escape again through the aisle, probably wanting to find the perfect snack to take home. Or maybe he self-appointed himself as the new bodega cat.

The owner also mentioned in the comment section that the employee was on the phone and luckily did not notice a cat snuck inside.

Viewers were cracking up at this cat’s mission impossible to the store. The TikTok clip quickly gained viral status and reached over 2.5 million views, 395,500 likes, and 1,065 comments as of Tuesday.

“And then had the audacity to try to get away from you,” pointed out a viewer.

Another added: “He wanted to apply as suPURRvisor at the store.” Being under the shelves was his way of checking how much cleaning was needed at the store.

Someone wrote what the cat was thinking: “He said, ‘I wanna know where he go every day.'” To which the owner responded he does go to that store every day.

As unbelievable as this situation is, other TikTok users were sharing similar experiences. One commented: “Growing up I used to have a cat that’d follow me halfway to school and also be waiting down the end of the block once school let out.”
