A conservative radio host predicted on Wednesday that Republicans could attempt to try to steal the election in November.

In a video posted to X, formerly Twitter on Wednesday, radio host Erick Erickson wrote, “While I don’t believe the 2020 election was stolen, I think multiple Republicans and Democrats will be arrested for election meddling this November.”

Erickson, the host of the Erick Erickson show says in the video that he is convinced that there were “shenanigans” during the 2020 election, but noted that overall, it was a lawful election.

“But there are so many people who are convinced 2020 was stolen on the right, and that in 2024, it’s going to be stolen again, I suspect you’re gonna have a lot of people arrested in 2024 on the right, who actually try to steal the election,” Erickson said.

Since President Joe Biden took office in 2021, Donald Trump has continued to claim that the election was rigged and stolen from him by Democrats.

“But I also think you’re gonna have people on the left arrested in 2024 because they’re so convinced that Donald Trump is a threat to Democracy, if they hadn’t shot him by then they’re gonna do whatever they can to stop him from taking the election, including actually trying to steal it,” Erickson added.

Erickson went on to say that he expects to see people from both sides of the aisle engage in “legal shenanigans…that undermine the election,” in 2024.

Newsweek has reached out to Erickson’s radio show via email for further comment.

“What happened at that last election is a disgrace, and we’re not going to let it happen again, we’re not going to let it happen again,” Trump said during a rally in Greensboro, North Carolina, this month.

On January 6, 2024, Biden delivered a speech on the anniversary of the 2021 riots at the Capitol following the 2020 election and criticized Trump, saying, “Trump’s claims about the 2020 election never could stand up in court.”

“Trump lost recount after recount after recount in state after state. But in desperation and weakness, Trump and his MAGA followers went after election officials who ensured your power as a citizen would be heard,” Biden said.

Trump and 18 other co-defendants were indicted in Fulton County, Georgia, for alleged election interference in the state and some have already entered plea deals. Trump has continued to deny any wrongdoing in the case.

Despite Biden’s remarks about Trump, a poll by The Washington Post/University of Maryland in January found that 36 percent of respondents say they do not believe Biden’s election as president was legitimate. Comparatively, 62 percent of respondents said it was legitimate.
