A social media video of a miniature dachshund named Ace “helping himself” to a shower has melted hearts across the internet.

The viral video, which has been viewed more than 88,000 times since it was first shared to TikTok on November 12 by @miaarenaexx, captured the water-loving sausage dog relaxing inside a running shower. While TikTok users have shared their amusement at the viral moment, the canine’s owner is the least bit surprised at her pup’s spa quality snooze.

“My little boy is obsessed with water, so much so that he decided to come in the shower and fall asleep under the running warm water,” Ace’s owner Mia told Newsweek. “He actually refused to leave the shower afterwards and got sad when the water had turned off!”

Ace, who turned 1 years old on November 17, lives in Perth with his other owner Tristan and his doxie sibling Trixie. The pure-bred miniature dachshund duo are described as being lovers of chewing and playing in the park in the Instagram account that their owner dedicated to them.

“Ace is such a loving little boy and he has a mad obsession with water,” Mia said.

The doxie parent told Newsweek that Ace adores his older sister and spends all his time (when he’s not trying to sneak into the shower) playing and cuddling.

She added that both dogs are well loved and “treated just like human children.”

Ace, the miniature dachshund, loves a warm shower. His owner captured him sneaking into the bath recently, where he was seen snoozing under the running water.

Why Should You Adopt a Dachshund?

Dachshunds, commonly called sausage dogs or wiener dogs, are a popular breed in the United States. and Europe. Originating in Germany, they were bred to chase rabbits and badgers down tunnels, hence the name, which means “badger hound.” They are known to be quite clingy, with a penchant for sitting on their owner’s laps.

Dachshunds are highly intelligent while also being loyal and devoted companions, according to the American Kennel Club (AKC). Dachshunds are strong-willed and smart too, which can make them more difficult to train than easier-going breeds such as golden retrievers.

“Dachshunds were bred to be an independent hunter of dangerous prey,” the AKC says on its website. “They can be brave to the point of rashness, and a bit stubborn, but their endearing nature and unique look has won millions of hearts the world over.”

Dachshunds are ideal for owners who live in small apartments or don’t have a large backyard, because they require little exercise, compared to other breeds. They are a low-maintenance pet, and most are happy to keep themselves occupied in small living environments and stay healthy with short daily walks.

What Do the Comments Say?
