Dog Accidentally Exposes Where Husband’s Been When Wife Takes Him for Walk

Dogs can sometimes quickly learn the routes of their walks to the point that they lead the way, which can be a good or bad thing depending on who you ask.

For one owner, it turned out to be a drawback when his springer spaniel, named Jinky, took his wife straight to the village pub where he had stopped for a sneaky drink on a previous solo walk.

“It was really funny,” the wife, who recorded the evidence and shared it online, told Newsweek. “I sent the clip straight to him.”

In the February 11 Instagram reel, Jinky, known on the platform as jinky_springerspaniel, picks up on where his dad had taken him the day before and takes mom there. The husband had made a quick pit stop on their walk just for, you know, hydration. And his little secret was not so secret anymore.

The wife explained that she was filming because she was tracking Jinky’s loose-leash training.

“We’ve been training for so long as he used to pull on his lead like typical spaniels do, so it was just fab I caught it,” she said.

Loose-leash walking is a training method that teaches dogs to walk next to their owners without the use of a tight leash. This important skill makes it easier to take them out in public as they will not pull and likely won’t react to seeing other dogs.

But the training takes time and patience. Well, maybe not for Jinky since he knows there’s a nice cold drink waiting for him at the pub.

The hilarious Instagram reel reached viral status, racking up over 4.1 million views, 195,000 likes, and 294 comments as of Thursday. Viewers have been cracking up at how willingly he was to bust the husband.

“He’s so excited to tattle tale on his dad too,” commented one Instagram user.

Another added: “Lad needed a cold one.”

But it turns out this isn’t the only dog who has outed an owner’s pub trips. One user said: “Yep, had the same thing. When I asked hubby, he said he couldn’t understand why they pulled me towards the pub door. My reply, you’ve been rumbled!”

The dogs must get love, attention, and something yummy at the pubs because why else would they keep going back?
