A dog called Bruno has melted hearts on social media after his owner shared the canine’s reaction to his son spending the night away.

In the heartwarming clip, shared on TikTok on Tuesday, under the username babyarthurandboxerbruno, the boxer can be seen sitting on the boy’s bed, looking miserable as he can’t understand where he’s gone.

He waits and waits for Arthur to come through the door and even peaks outside to see if his bestie is coming home. He doesn’t know he’s going to be spending the night elsewhere.

A caption shared alongside the clip explains: “My son went for a sleepover and the dog couldn’t understand where he was.” Followed by: “He’s sad he wasn’t invited.”

Hearts melted online as the dog couldn’t understand why his best friend wasn’t home.

When getting a new dog you must ensure they will fit in well with your family. According to pet wellness experts at Rover, some of the best family dogs include Labrador and golden retrievers, if you’re looking for a large-sized dog. Boxers and Bernese mountain dogs are also family-friendly.

The most family-suited medium-sized dogs include English bulldogs, Samoyeds, poodles and bull terriers. When it comes to small dogs, top on the list are Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, followed by beagles, French bulldogs, pugs and cocker spaniels.

The video quickly went viral on social media, reaching viewers from across TikTok. It has so far received over 863,600 views and 47,000 likes on the platform.

One user, Raphaël Aimé Khouri, commented: “The dog was looking at you like, ‘why aren’t you worried?'” And andymcdublin said: “That’s one of the saddest things I’ve ever seen.”

Kendall wrote: “I guess the sleepovers have to happen at your house for the rest of time now.” And Bri added: “You get him his child back right now & don’t ever do that again.”

Another user, kn_draws, wrote: “He said ‘where is my child and what are you doing about it?!'” And scottishhufflettv added: “Dogs are just love personified. How anyone can be cruel to such pure beings I will never understand.” “Boxer they’re Velcro dogs,” joked one user. “My boxer is always worrying where everyone is,” agreed another.
