Donald Trump made no mention of his wife Melania, mother to his youngest child, Barron, on his social media platform on Mother’s Day, instead sharing a post talking about the “Mothers, Wives and Lovers” of his political enemies.

“Happy Mother’s Day to ALL, in particular the Mothers, Wives and Lovers of the Radical Left Fascists, Marxists, and Communists who are doing everything within their power to destroy and obliterate our once great Country,” the embattled former president wrote on Truth Social on Sunday.

“Please make these complete Lunatics and Maniacs Kinder, Gentler, Softer and, most importantly, Smarter, so that we can, quickly, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!,” he added.

While Trump re-shared a post from his third wife on Truth Social, at no point did he directly mention her.

In a later message, Trump wrote on his social media platform: “I hope that all of the incredible MOTHERS out there had an incredible day. You are the most special people of them all!!! Love, DONALD J. TRUMP, 45th President of the United States.”

Melania Trump’s post, published on Truth Social on Sunday, described mothers “the cornerstone of a flourishing society” and the “bedrock of the American family,” calling for moms to prioritize self-care to make sure they can look after their kids.

“I take great pride in embracing this responsibility. And although nothing makes me prouder than the relationship I have built with my son, only a mother knows that some of our efforts remain unnoticed,” Melania Trump wrote. “When moms are healthy, our communities are too. As mothers, we are inclined to honor our mothers and mother figures on Mother’s Day, but we must also be mindful of ourselves. It may be difficult to imagine, but when moms prioritize self-care, our families and children enjoy greater stability.”

During a MAGA rally in New Jersey on Sunday, Trump did mention Melania during his Mother’s Day wishes, saying: “I also want to say happy Mother’s Day to all the moms in America, especially my wife Melania. I’ll be home in a little while.

“And we’re also thinking about Melania’s incredible mother, who just passed away.” Amalija Knavs died at the age of 78 in January.

Vocal Trump critic Ron Filipkowski criticized him for “using Melania’s dead mother to promote himself.”

On Sunday, former President Barack Obama shared a message on X, formerly known as Twitter, praising his wife Michelle Obama for being “such an amazing mom to our beautiful girls” and setting “an incredible example for all of us.”

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis praised his wife Casey as “the best mother in the world,” thanking her for “all that you do for our family.”

President Joe Biden praised his mother, Catherine Eugenia Finnegan Biden, while also wishing a Happy Mother’s Day “to moms everywhere.”
