Every Product Removed This Month

Dozens of food items were recalled across the U.S. in April with numerous health warnings issued.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced the recalls on food products ranging from ice cream to cheese and bread. Recalls were also announced for animal feed products, hand sanitizing gel and medical devices.

Among the food items recalled were thousands of pounds of ready-to-eat sliced prosciutto ham produced in Germany after the goods were shipped to eight states without the benefit of equivalent quality checks in the U.S.

The recall by ConSup North America Inc, a firm based in New Jersey, affected about 85,984 pounds of the product produced on various dates between September 25, 2023 through March 6, 2024. They were shipped to retail locations in California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia and Washington, according to FSIS.

A supermarket chain also recalled multiple varieties of its own ice cream due to it potentially containing metal.

H-E-B, which is headquartered in Texas, announced a voluntary recall on April 27 of its 12-count packages of 3-ounce cups of Creamy Creations ice cream in select flavors for possibly containing unspecific metals. Flavors including chocolate, chocolate-and-vanilla combination, and lime-orange sherbet combination are affected.

Meanwhile, fresh organic basil products sold by Florida-based company Infinite Herbs LLC were also recalled in April amid fears some items could be contaminated with salmonella.
