Fox News’ Kayleigh McEnany has criticized President Joe Biden for calling for unity in the country and for people to “stop the rancor” while his campaign team attacked MAGA Republicans during the Thanksgiving season.

McEnany, a former White House press secretary under Donald Trump, was a guest host on the Jesse Watters Primetime show on Friday. She accused Biden of dividing Americans with his rhetoric, despite wanting the country to come together. Newsweek emailed the White House for comment on Saturday.

On Thanksgiving, Biden spoke to NBC News anchor Al Roker and said people should put their differences aside over the holiday season. “We can have different political views, but we have one view. The one view is that we’re the finest, greatest nation in the world. We should focus on that,” Biden added.

“We should focus on dealing with our problems and being together and stop the rancor. We have to bring the nation together and treat each other with a little bit of decency, and I think that’s where the vast majority of the American people are,” Biden said.

In response, McEnany noted that Biden’s 2024 campaign team sent out a guide to “responding to crazy MAGA nonsense this Thanksgiving,” on social media Wednesday. The guide offered several responses to give if people praise Trump’s time as president on issues such as the economy and immigration, or suggest that the former president is “better for workers.”

While showing the guide on screen, McEnany said: “‘We all need to come together. Decency?’ Well, maybe Joe should tell that to his campaign because they posted this, a guide for liberals to help them respond to crazy MAGA nonsense at their family’s Thanksgiving dinner table.

“All the guy does is bash Trump, spread lies about how great the economy is under Biden, and try to create a bigger divide between Democrats and Republicans. How’s that for rancor? But that’s really the Biden plan, misrepresent your record, attack conservatives. It’s lazy,” McEnany added.

McEnany then played a clip of Biden’s Battle for the Soul of the Nation speech at the Independence Hall in Philadelphia in September 2022, ahead of the midterms. In it, the president repeatedly attacked Trump and MAGA Republicans as representing an “extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic,” and as people who are “determined to take this country backwards.”

“Sadly, spreading fear and lies is all Joe Biden has left to run on,” McEnany said.

Biden and Trump are the two likely Democratic and Republican nominees in the 2024 election, with several recent polls indicating that Trump is the current favorite to win the race next year.

Among some of the responses in the Thanksgiving MAGA guide released by the Biden campaign is the reply, “No, he didn’t,” to suggestions that Trump secured the southern border.

“All he did was separate families, put children in cages, and leave behind a broken immigration system for Joe Biden to clean up,” the guide says.

It adds that, if someone says the economy was better under Trump, people should respond with: “Wrong. Inflation is the lowest it’s been in two years, the economy is growing, and unemployment has been under 4 percent for the longest stretch on record.”
