Being a dog must be so exhausting, what with all the games of fetch, barking at the neighbors, and eating they do, so it’s no wonder they will relax in just about any way possible, but one goldendoodle has taken that to another level.

After waking up in the night, Hunter Haag wandered downstairs to get a glass of water, but she had quite the surprise when she saw the way her dog, named Evie, was lounging on the sofa. As she lay on her back with her legs stretched out, Evie looked more like someone who was tired out from a busy day at work, rather than a dog who slept through most of it.

Haag, from Charlotte, North Carolina, couldn’t control her laughter when she saw 6-year-old Evie looking so relaxed, telling Newsweek that “she truly is a human” at times.

It may have been the middle of the night, but Haag couldn’t resist filming her dog’s unusual sleeping position and sharing it on TikTok (@hunterhaag). Since the clip was shared on February 21, it has already been viewed over 7.4 million times and gained more than 1.1 million likes.

Evie the 6-year-old goldendoodle made herself comfortable at her home in North Carolina. The hilarious dog has gone viral on TikTok, as people marvel at her unusual sleeping position.

“I always burst out laughing when I see her acting like a human. This time was exceptionally funny,” Haag continued. “She’s very strange, but in the best way as she’s also hilarious. She has a huge personality and always needs all the attention on her, so she truly is just like a person at times.”

Many dogs sleep in very unusual positions, often leaving their owner wondering how it could possibly be comfortable. But it turns out that Evie’s way of lounging, known as the belly up, is among the most common positions for dogs, according to PetMD. When dogs lay like this, it can signal that they’re very playful and loving, and they may still be in their puppy years.

Owners may also find their pup sleeping on their side, which PetMD suggests can mean they’re calm and content, the donut position, which can signal that they’re shy, or the lion pose, which could be a sign that they’re protective and loyal.

Since the video of Evie was shared on TikTok, social media users have been left in stitches after seeing the hilarious way she chooses to relax after a long day. Alongside the viral video, Haag joked that “she is the funniest pup [she’s] ever met.”

While Haag certainly didn’t expect Evie to become a social media sensation, she’s loved seeing all the positive responses to her video, as people just can’t get enough of her cheeky pup.

“There was an outpouring of love for Evie and her funny personality, and she got a lot more views than I ever could have imagined,” Haag told Newsweek.

Among the 13,500 comments on the viral TikTok post, many people lauded Evie’s commitment to staying relaxed and getting enough sleep. One comment reads: “Everyone should learn to relax like that!”

Another person responded: “Bro laying like he pay rent.”

While another TikToker joked: “The feeling when you live rent free with all the love, food, and snacks.”
