This week we’ve enjoyed pet stories from around the globe, from a Labrador enjoying a sunset to a dog that demanded his owner get him a second pup cup from the brand he preferred.

As dogs and cats gained viral attention for adorable antics, our readers have been sending their favorite pictures and videos of their pets.

Every week, Newsweek shares a Pet of the Week—highlighting our favorite pet videos and pictures with readers.

If you want your pet to be part of next week’s lineup, make sure you follow the instructions at the end of this story to get involved.

Sherry Owens

This week’s Pet of the Week winner is 4-year-old goldendoodle Tenaya who loves to go to the small-town bank and make a withdrawal.

Living in Running Springs, California, with owner Sherry Owens, Tenaya visits the small bank often.

“The four girls who work there love her and give her a cookie,” Owens told Newsweek. “Two of them come out if it’s not busy to give her hugs.”

When she isn’t visiting the bank with her owner, Tenaya loves kayaking on Lake Arrowhead and taking long car rides.

“She’s been an unofficial therapy dog to several friends’ rescue dogs that came from abusive situations and were nervous, scared dogs,” added Owens. “Once they spent time around Tenaya, they became relaxed happy dogs and joined our walks and hikes. I never expected the bond she and I have—my best friend.”

Finalists

Mariah Spinelli

Our first finalist this week is a super cute cat who was caught on camera having a nap in an unexpected place.

Voodoo the kitten was photographed taking a nap in a slipper by owner Mariah Spinelli, who lives in Indiana.

“She would do this all the time when she was small,” Spinelli told Newsweek.

Frank Talmadge

Next up this week is rescue Beanie, a 3-year-old cat who lives with owner Frank Talmadge in Washington.

“His best feature is his fantastic markings,” Talmadge told Newsweek. “My favorite thing is his personality.”

Beanie got off to a tough start in life, as he was abused by his previous owners. But today he is a loving family pet who is cared for by his owners.

Chhotu

Sunrit

Last but not least is Chhotu, a cat who lives with owner Sunrit in Alberta, Canada.

“We brought Chhotu from Kolkata, India, to Medicine Hat, Canada, in the hold of two planes and a car ride…a total journey of some 24 hours,” Sunrit told Newsweek, revealing that her feline is quite well traveled.

Originally Chhotu was found in the parking lot of their apartment building, abandoned at just 2 months old when they decided to adopt him.

“He is a very friendly, frisky and cuddly cat who curls up with us in our bed,” the owner said.
