Gwen Stefani Gives Wholesome Peek Inside Ranch Life With Blake Shelton

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton took on some gardening tasks at their Oklahoma ranch, as seen in a series of recent Instagram Stories posted by Stefani on April 15.

In the shared videos, Stefani, 54, described their rush to plant zinnias before an impending rainstorm. She humorously noted, “We’ve got about five seconds to plant some zinnias, you call them ‘zin-ee-as,’ we call them ‘zeen-ee-as.’ We made them up ourselves,” as they zipped around in their all-terrain vehicle.

Shelton, 47, focused on driving, seemed less enthusiastic about speaking on camera, prompting his wife to encourage him, saying, “C’mon Blake, we’re trying to engage with the humans. Engage.” The country singer played along, adding, “We’ve got five minutes worth of zinnias to plant.”

The No Doubt singer made sure to point out her husband’s new glasses, to which Shelton looked at the camera and made a face, while Stefani laughed in the background.

Stefani continued to share details about the seeds they were planting, including a giant California mix and a semi-dwarf collection of Lilliput zinnia mix. Despite their utilitarian activity, the former Voice coach didn’t compromise on style, and dressed in a long red and black plaid shirt over matching plaid pants, complemented by knee-high boots, and accessorized with diamond chokers and a cross.

Shelton dressed more casually in a patterned brown and beige shirt and jeans, sporting a khaki hat and a scruffy beard. The couple also mentioned planting camellias, with Stefani humorously struggling to open a seed bag due to her Coachella-inspired nails.

As they worked, Stefani sang, “Hi ho, hi ho, it’s off to work we go,” with the “Boys ‘Round Here” singer joining in. They bantered about the speed of their work, with the pop singer urging him to go faster and Shelton advocating for a slower pace, to which she replied with a reference to her song, “A simple kind of life?”

Finally, the pair arrived at their destination, a prepared field near a body of water, with Stefani declaring, “Here it is, the field we’re going to conquer. We’re going to destroy this field with flowers.”

Stefani also recently conquered an epic performance at Coachella on April 13, reuniting with the band No Doubt for their first performance in nearly a decade. Addressing an ecstatic crowd, Stefani celebrated the long-awaited reunion by saying, “It’s been nine f–king years! I was thinking we should dust off some of the old s–t.” True to her iconic style, the singer rocked the stage in another one of her signature plaid outfits accented by her unmistakable red lipstick.
