Hints, Clues and Answer for Puzzle #322

Connections is back with another brainteasing daily puzzle—and Newsweek is here to help you get the right answers.

The most recent addition to The New York Times daily puzzle collection, Connections, was launched in June of 2023. The game has already amassed a sizable following, along with other popular puzzles like Wordle.

Playing Connections is pretty straightforward. Each daily puzzle includes 16 words distributed among four categories: yellow, green, blue and purple. The objective is for players to determine the shared link between each category.

The uniting themes can be from a very broad range of topics. Previous examples include types of plants, name homophones and taco toppings. A group’s color will only be revealed once the words in a group have been correctly connected.

Although there may be several possible combinations of words, players need to be cautious as only one correct answer exists for each group. If you’re right, placing all four words into a set will result in their removal from the board.

Each incorrect attempt will add to the mistake tally, with players being allotted up to four mistakes before the game ends. If you’re finding yourself a little stumped, you can shuffle and rearrange the board.

The game refreshes every 24 hours, so if you’re out of luck on today’s game, you can always try again tomorrow.

GETTY

Connections’ creator Wyna Liu of The New York Times has explained the varying different difficulty levels. “Some categories might be defined by their use of wordplay—palindromes, homophones, adding or dropping letters and words—rather than the literal meanings of the words on the cards,” she said. “I saw three areas of potential difficulty that could be adjusted: the familiarity of the words, the ambiguity of their categorization and the variety of the wordplay.”

If you’re struggling with the right answers to today’s puzzle, look no further as Newsweek has you covered. But scroll with caution, as the correct answers are contained below.
