Armed with a cup of ice and a glass, Jennifer showed her followers how to flatten curling corners by placing the glass on the rug’s corner and placing ice around the edges so it melts.

“Apparently you take a cup and put it on the corner, and then you take ice and put it all around the cup like this.”

After a decade of working as a wedding planner, Harrup returned to her original passion of interior design, in which she has a degree, she wrote on her website.

The self-proclaimed Swiftie carried her ice in a Taylor Swift cup as she laid out the ice on the corners of her large cream rug with a gray diamond border that lies beneath her dining room table.

After leaving the ice to melt around the glass, Harrup showed the results, and lifts the newly flattened corner.

She said on video: “It’s pretty good, now to go and do the other corners!”

Inquisitive commenters asked why the homeware content creator did not use carpet tape. She replied that she was concerned it would damage her wood flooring.

Another commenter who said they work in appliance and furniture stores revealed they often use double sided tape to prevent the rugs from lifting and to ensure customers do not trip.
