A viral clip of a dog’s unexpected sneeze, which catapulted his cat sibling straight off the couch they were both sat on, has left internet users in hysterics.

The video, which has been viewed more than 2.4 million times since it was first shared to TikTok on March 25, captured the hilarious moment when the dog’s sneeze launched the cat off the seat. “When you capture the best moment ever by accident,” the dog’s owner, Amanda Barr, said.

Since it had been shared to the social-media platform by @amanda_beee, the TikTok post has been liked by more than 418,000 users and commented on almost 1,000 times. Dozens of TikTok users have laughed along with the pet’s owner in the comments section of the post.

“Can we have that sneeze in slow motion,” one user posted, while another added: “Awww, he tried to apologize.”

“The cat was blown like a feather,” a third user shared.

Can Cats and Dogs Get Along?

While cats and dogs have historically been deemed more foe than friend, the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) says that the vastly different companion animals can become close members of one family, or at least learn to tolerate one another, if they are introduced to each other in a measured and sensible way.

This crucial first introduction between the future friends or siblings should happen at a quiet time. Both animals should be provided with a reassuring and peaceful environment, the RSPCA adds in one of its online publications, when they are meeting the other animal for the first time.

“Choose a quiet time when the household is calm. Avoid festivities, parties, visiting
relatives or friends, and find time to concentrate on calm reassurance for both pets,” the RSPCA writes online.

Owners are then encouraged to reward both pets for responding well to meeting each other. “The cat should be given a safe position in the room, and the animals should be allowed to get used to each other gradually. This will take patience for them to become used to each other. Again, associate the presence of the cat with reward for your dog’s calm behavior,” the organization adds.
