Hysterics Over Dog’s Sad Reaction to Sibling’s New Pajamas: ‘Not Jealous’

A dog’s sad reaction to her “sister” showing off her new pajamas has left the internet in hysterics.

In a viral video uploaded to TikTok on Tuesday, November 14, user stunpopgun explained her smaller dog was adapting well to her new cozy pajamas but that her larger senior pet was “not jealous” and was “just sad.”

The clip, which can be seen here, showed the smaller dog confidently strutting in her new blue pajamas before the camera panned over the senior pet who appeared to be upset with her ill-fitting pink homemade shirt that did not cover her body above the front legs.

“When your sister is showing off her new pjs but the store doesn’t carry your size,” said a caption on the video.

When the camera zoomed in, the larger dog continued to stare back at her owner with sad eyes.

Newsweek has contacted stunpopgun for comment via TikTok.

According to the U.K. charity The People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals, there are several things pet owners should consider before buying clothes for their companion animals:

• Can your dog move properly? Some clothes can be quite restrictive and can get in the way of your pet’s everyday activities.
• Is your pet stressed? Wearing clothes does not come naturally to dogs and can cause them stress in some instances.
• Can the dog still communicate? If your dog is dressed up other dogs might find it difficult to understand their body language.
• Is it respectful? Dressing up a pet can be fun but in some cases, it is not necessarily kind or respectful to the pet or others.

Online Reaction to the Video

Since being shared online, the video has attracted an estimated 2.5 million views and more than 485,500 likes.

The overwhelming majority of people who commented on the video said they empathized with the pit bull and some shared their experiences of trying to buy clothes for their dogs.

TikTok user Emily Decker said: “Actual footage of me when I order off one of those Instagram boutiques.”

Mrsdabs added: “Buying clothes for pits is, for real, so hard lol (laugh out loud) there’s almost no change between the back and shoulders.”

While Aunt Daddy commented: “The way she strutted her stuff past her miserable sister. Truly siblings.”

Gvill21 posted: “I laughed so hard because I can totally relate with my dog and his paw cousins lol. So cute.”
