As expected, Barbie was one of three movies to dominate the 2024 Oscars nomination reveal, but it seems that not everyone was thrilled with the film’s success.

Actors Zazie Beetz and Jack Quaid announced the nominees from the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills, California, on Tuesday, with Barbie nominated in eight categories, including Best Film, Best Costume, and Best Production Design.

The movie’s signature ballad, “I’m Just Ken,”—performed by actor Ryan Gosling—was nominated for Best Original Song. However, an audience member clearly wasn’t pleased with the choice, booing loudly.

Fans watching at home took notice, sharing their thoughts on social media.

“Did someone just BOO I’m Just Ken at the #Oscars2024 nominations?” one person asked on X, formerly Twitter.

“When I’m just Ken sweeps then what,” said @strangerstiII.

“Ouch. Did you hear the boos when they announced ‘I’m Just Ken’?!” wrote Eliot Gonzalez.

Bob Lee Swagger said: “Whoever boo’d I’m Just Ken at the Oscar nominations I love you.”

“I’m Just Ken” wasn’t the only Barbie track to receive a nod, with Billie Eilish’s “What Was I Made For?” also featuring in the Best Original Song category.
