A seriously vocal cat has left people in stitches after his owner rounded up his “top 10” meows in a now viral TikTok video.

With 2.7 million views, the video shared by @beautynthebean sums up Bean’s best meows of all timeā€”and he has plenty.

Bean’s owner, known for capturing the essence of their furry friend’s personality, has identified and labeled each distinct meow in the video. From the concussion meow to the earthquake meow, each vocalization has its own quirky characterization that has left viewers delighted.

Meows include “the concussion meow,” “the French meow,” “the endless meow,” “the opera meow,” “the ghost meow,” “the chainsaw meow,” “the downhill meow,” “the senior meow,” “the doorbell meow” and “the earthquake meow.”

Cats meow for plenty of reasons, but it is primarily about communicating with humans. Common reasons for your cat’s meow include greeting, seeking attention, requesting food, indicating illness, and expressing stress or anxiety. A learned behavior, cats don’t tend to meow to each other in adulthood, instead reserving it for capturing human attention.

Some feline friends may rarely offer a meow, while othersā€”like Beanā€”are very vocal. Vocalization can range due to factors such as breed, socialization, and age. Some breeds, like Siamese and Abyssinians, are known to be more vocal by nature, while others may be quieter.

Similarly, younger cats are likely to be more vocal than their senior counterparts, while socialization also plays a role as kittens that are handled often and are well socialized may become more vocal adults.

The video caption alongside read, “Top 10 Meows of ALL TIME (in no particular order)ā€”which one is your fave?!”

Before long, there was a flood of comments from captivated cat fans who shared their favorite meow and a lot of love for the chatty cat.

“Ghost meow gets me every time,” laughed KRS, while commenter ShyAnne said: “My favorite one was ‘waaaaahahahahahahahaaaa’.”

Another commenter said: “The opera meow will always be the winner for me.”

Bean and his owner are now entering the fourth year of the series in which Bean shares his daily wisdom with some well-placed meows and captions to help humans understand exactly what he is saying.
