Fans of Donald Trump have compared his golfing abilities to those of President Joe Biden as the two men trade barbs over the sport.

Biden recently mocked the former president for boasting about his double win at a tournament at his Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Trump took to his Truth Social website to reveal he had won the golf tournaments on Sunday.

“It is my great honor to be at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach tonight, AWARDS NIGHT, to receive THE CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY & THE SENIOR CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY. I WON BOTH!” Trump posted about the events, which took place in mid-March.

Biden then reshared Trump’s post to his own social media and mocked him by writing: “Congratulations, Donald. Quite the accomplishment.”

But when Biden showed off his own golfing skills on X, formerly Twitter, Trump supporters mocked him in return. The president shared a video of him practicing his skills with Michigan-based community leader Hurley Coleman and his son, HJ.

“Last week, I met with Hurley Coleman and his son, HJ, at a local golf course in Saginaw. Hurley’s dad taught him how to golf because it taught discipline and patience, and he is passing down his love of the game to HJ for the same reasons. We talked about our families, our faith, and our hopes for the future,” Biden captioned the post.

He also shared a video showing off his putting skills alongside HJ saying, “looks like I’ve got some competition!”

Trump fans replied by questioning if Biden was any better at the sport than his presidential predecessor.

“But could you beat Donald Mr President? 😛” wrote @OBBY001 on X.

While, @DanielMason2529 added: “Trump could get done with 18 holes before you finished 1.”

And @JKash000 commented: “How weak and pathetic does this look compared to Trump’s golfing posts?”

While both men are avid golfers, many have questioned Trump’s claims of having a 2.8 handicap. Biden has a handicap of a little more than 6, according to the United States Golf Association, but has not recorded a score since 2018.

Newsweek contacted Trump and Biden’s representatives for comment.

A golf handicap refers to the numerical measure of a golfer’s skill and used to allow players of different levels to compete against one another, according to golfing website, Stix. The USGA is responsible for the calculation and evaluation of golf handicaps in the U.S.

Trump an avid golfer, owns 17 golf courses and played the sport around every 4.2 days while serving as Commander-in-Chief.

Biden is a member at Wilmington Country Club in Delaware and previously served as the Honorary Chairman of the 2022 Presidents Cup at Quail Hollow Club held in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The Presidents Cup is biennial competition featuring a team representing the U.S. against a team of golfers from the rest of the world, except Europe. The U.S. faces off against a Europe team in the Ryder Cup.
