Jon Bon Jovi made headlines after admitting he wasn’t a “saint” in his marriage to Dorothea Hurley. Continuing to speak on the matter, he shared that he “got away with murder” back in the day when it came to his relationship.

The “Livin’ On a Prayer” singer shared that he was “not saying that there weren’t 100 girls in [his] life” at the time, which he told Michael Strahan on ABC’s Halfway There special on Monday, April 29.

“I’m a rock ‘n’ roll star. I’m not a saint,” he said. “I’m Jon Bon Jovi. It was pretty good.”

The couple are famously high school sweethearts and recently celebrated their 35th anniversary. They met and started dating four years before he released his first album in 1984, leading him to become the star he is today.

In the interview, Hurley revealed that everything “changed dramatically” once fame came into the picture.

Bon Jovi went on to explain that although he made some mistakes, he didn’t let it ruin his relationship. “But if you think I was ever going to jeopardize … anything for believing the narcissist in me was real? What a stupid thing to do,” he said. “What kind of excesses does a man need that’s going to fuel that fire? It’s just not worth it.”
The rockstar also shared that he believes “growing together is integral.” As he and Hurley both “came from nothing — same hometown, same high school. The same group of peripheral friends.”

Bon Jovi praised his wife for all she’s done for him throughout the years. “There is no doubt in my mind that this world revolves because of her. Because of what she did to keep the kids right. What she does to keep me right.”

Also revealing that Hurley is not “afraid to call [him] out on something,” Bon Jovi went on to say, “But she’s also there when I fall and I’m there for her when she falls. No matter where I went in my career, the ups or the downs, we did it together.”

The duo share four children: Stephanie, 30, Jesse, 29, Jake, 21, and Romeo, 20.
