Kari Lake said Tuesday that she believes she and former President Donald Trump could “win in a landslide” in the November 2024 election in the state of Arizona.
Lake, a Republican who lost the Arizona gubernatorial race in the 2022 midterms, is running for the state’s open U.S. Senate seat next fall against Democratic Representative Ruben Gallego. A close ally to Trump, Lake maintains that her loss to Democratic Governor Katie Hobbs was plagued by voter fraud in the state, and spoke with former Trump White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon on Tuesday about her expectations for the next election.
“Our cases are effective,” Lake said during Tuesday’s episode of Bannon’s War Room podcast, referring to her ongoing legal challenges to the 2022 election results. “They will actually help secure the ’24 election.”

According to the Associated Press, Lake awaits a ruling on her lawsuit filed earlier this year that demands Maricopa County release the images of 1.3 million ballot envelopes that were signed by voters. Her other bids to contest the 2022 midterm results, however, have almost all been dismissed by state courts.
Bannon went on to ask Lake whether she believed that she and Trump would be successful in the 2024 election, adding, “Can you beat the cheating that you know they’re going to do in Arizona?”
“We can win in a landslide,” Lake responded.
“I think things have gotten so bad that people are going to show up in such massive numbers that they won’t be able to cheat their way around it,” she added.
Lake lost to Hobbs by 17,000 votes in 2022. Trump, who baselessly claims that his loss to President Joe Biden in 2020 was due to election fraud, has previously supported Lake’s legal efforts and has endorsed her in Arizona’s Senate race.

Lake and Gallego are running to take the seat of independent Arizona Senator Kyrsten Sinema, who is up for reelection next fall. According to a poll conducted October 25 by the partisan National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), Gallego led a hypothetical three-way race, earning 41 percent of the vote. Lake came in second with 37 percent, while Sinema trailed at 17 percent.
In the same NRSC survey, according to the polling site FiveThirtyEight, Gallego also leads Lake by five percentage points (49 percent to 44 percent) in a hypothetical matchup with just two candidates.
Lake has also started a nomination petition in Arizona to help secure her spot on the fall 2024 ballot. During her appearance on Bannon’s podcast Tuesday, Lake said she was “just about” at the number of required signatures.
