The Princess of Wales’ striking appearance during a milestone royal ceremony earlier this year has become the focus of a new viral video, after footage reemerged from the Trooping the Colour celebrations on TikTok.

Kate’s stylish looks for important royal events have been widely celebrated, including the wardrobe she has put together since taking on the elevated title of Princess of Wales in September 2022. Handed out by King Charles III in one of his first acts as monarch, Kate and husband Prince William took on the Wales titles as the most senior members of the royal family after the king and Queen Camilla.

In his accession speech to the nation, Charles announced the title change, saying: “With Catherine beside him, our new Prince and Princess of Wales will, I know, continue to inspire and lead our national conversations, helping to bring the marginal to the center ground where vital help can be given.”

Since the title change, Kate’s look has been streamlined as she has adopted strong tailored items of clothing, showing what celebrity stylist and royal fashion expert Miranda Holder previously told Newsweek was the princess’ business-minded approach to her new role.

Uploaded to TikTok by user princessofwales2022 on November 2, one of Kate’s strongest Princess of Wales fashion moments has been viewed over 300,000 times so far, captured during the 2023 Trooping the Colour celebrations.

Trooping the Colour is a traditional British military parade and event marking the monarch’s official birthday in June. It includes a carriage procession from Buckingham Palace by members of the royal family to the Horse Guards Parade in Whitehall, where military regiments parade before the king.

After the parade, an official flypast is watched by the royals from the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

For the 2023 ceremony, Kate made a striking appearance in a ’90s inspired vivid green coat dress with jeweled statement buttons and a large brimmed hat in the same color.

The coat dress was a unique choice for Kate, opting to patronize the Singaporean designer Andrew Gn for the commission. This was unusual for the princess, who for major royal events traditionally wears British-based brands such as Alexander McQueen or Catherine Walker & Co.

The footage included in the viral video was captured as the princess traveled in a carriage with her three children (Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis) as well as Queen Camilla to Horse Guards Parade for the ceremony.

The clip has received in excess of 9,000 likes and numerous comments, many of which praised Kate and her standout look.

“That colour looks amazing on her. She is stunning,” wrote one TikTok user.

“She’s actually perfect 🥰,” posted another, with a further comment reading: “I loved this big hat on her. The style and color were amazing.”
