There’s no denying that dogs are clever creatures; one pet has recently wowed the internet with his epic artwork.

In a viral video, Walsh the black Labrador can be seen proudly sitting down while his owner shows off his painting of an autumn tree with paw print leaves.

So far, the TikTok clip shared by @walsh.the.blab has racked up 684,000 views and over 161,000 likes.

The text layered over the video states: “When your dog makes you a fall craft at doggie daycare.”

How To Teach Your Dog To Paint

Believe it or not, dogs creating masterpieces with paint is more common than you think. In fact, the hashtag “dog painting” boasts over 120 million views.

The American Kennel Club has provided the following steps to help you teach your canine how to paint but first you will need non-toxic acrylic paint, and plenty of dog-friendly peanut butter.

  1. Put a few dollops of colors of paint on to the canvas.
  2. Put the small canvas into a large zip-top plastic bag and seal it.
  3. Take the peanut butter or another spreadable treat and put it on the outside of the bag.
  4. Hold the bag out to your dog or put it on the ground and allow your dog to lick off the treat. As he or she licks, the paint underneath will distribute around the canvas and create a swirled pattern.
  5. Once the treat has been licked off, open the bag, remove the canvas and leave it to dry.

Alternatively, you can place your dog’s paw in the same paint and create paw prints—just like Walsh.

So far, the video captioned: “Walsh made me a fall craft at doggie daycare,” has been a hit online and many people have commented to sing Walsh’s praises.

One user demanded: “You need to frame this, he did so well the goodest boy.”

“Walsh is such an artist,” complimented another person.

Some users have stated they would be reduced to tears if they received artwork from their furry friend.

“I would legit cry if I got this,” stated one user, and another wrote: “I would sob! Exceptional work.”

Previously, Newsweek shared an article about an Australian shepherd dog called Secret, who was best known online for her amazing art. Sadly, the canine has since died but her spirit lives on through her work. The talented dog didn’t use any of the aforementioned methods, instead, she used a paint brush and placed it in her mouth.

Newsweek reached out to @walsh.the.blab for comment. We could not verify the details of the case.
