Dog lovers are easy to spot, that’s because they will always gravitate toward any dog that happens to be near them, no matter the situation. A dog mom has left the internet in stitches after getting caught isolating herself from a party to pet a dog.

In a viral video taken by her husband and then shared on TikTok earlier in December under the username ataleof2pitties, the woman can be seen ignoring all the humans at the party while spending the night petting the house dog instead.

The hilarious post comes with a caption that says: “POV you always know where to find your wife at a party” Followed by: “Look for anyone with a beard and a tail and you can’t miss me.”

Americans love dogs. In fact, dogs are the most popular domestic pets in the country. According to Forbes, over 65.1 million U.S. households own a dog, 46.5 million households own cats and 11.1 million households freshwater fish. Millennials make up the largest percentage of current pet owners, at 33 percent.

But some dogs are more popular than others. After 30 years on top of the American Kennel Club’s list of America’s favorite dogs, golden retrievers have been replaced by French bulldogs, followed by Labradors. Golden retrievers are still among the favorites, coming in third place, followed by German shepherds in fourth, and poodles in fifth.

The video quickly went viral on social media, getting viewers from across TikTok. It has so far received over 1.5 million views and 212,300 likes on the platform.

One user, SpookyKyGoddess, commented: “And if they ain’t got a pet, I’m in a corner trying not to get overstimulated.” And Adrianne said: “I heard there’d be dogs’ the only reason I’d show up somewhere.”

Unicorncow420 wrote: “Even if there’s no dog, I’ll literally find and befriend a raccoon.” And krakengsd603 said: “I laid on the couch with my bro in laws ancient GSD for 4 hours. best family Thanksgiving lol.”

Another user, Sam, commented: “Me. Or if they don’t have a dog and I can’t bring mine I’m quietly sitting alone in a corner somewhere…” And Tonya added: “You’d find me hiding in the bathroom after too much small talk and oversharing.”
