How irritating is it when you’ve been looking forward to a snack all day—only to find out that someone else ate it before you could put your hands on it?

A woman from the U.K. has left the internet in stitches after making her husband believe that she ate all the snacks he was looking forward to in a hilarious prank that quickly went viral across social media.

In a video shared to TikTok in February under the username @gs97xx, the man can be seen walking back into the living room as he comes out of the bathroom, ready to snack on the bag of mini chocolate eggs they just opened, when to his horror he discovers there is nothing left for him to snack on.

The expression on his face immediately changes, and he looks visibly heartbroken as he asks his wife with a faint voice: “Have you eaten them all?”

Thankfully the poster hadn’t really eaten all the mini eggs, as the caption explains: “I emptied the full bag into a bowl whilst he was in the loo.” She added: “Crying.”

In another video, upon users’ request, the poster made it up to her husband, by buying him not one but three new bags of mini eggs just for himself to enjoy—and he couldn’t have been happier about it.

According to a study by Jean Pierre Enriquez and Elizabeth Gollub, published on the National Library of Medicine, snacks are a staple for Americans, and make up about 20 percent of our daily energy intake.

The study found that over 90 percent of Americans eat between one and three snacks every single day, and the number has only been increasing over the last few decades.

The video quickly went viral on social media, getting viewers from across TikTok. It has so far received over 17 million views and 2.2 million likes on the platform.

One user, _nevermisses_, commented: “HELP PLS GO BUY HIM ANOTHER BAG IN AN UPDATE VIDEO.” And Siumai said: “Why does he have the energy of a Victorian child, please sir may I have a mini egg.” LidlGB added: “You can hear the betrayal in his voice.”
