Lauren Boebert’s ‘Crime Family’ Tweet Goes Viral After Son’s Arrest

Representative Lauren Boebert’s tweet about the “Biden Crime Family” is going viral after police in Rifle, Colorado, announced that her son was arrested.

Boebert, one of President Joe Biden’s fiercest critics in Congress, slammed the president’s family on X, formerly Twitter, on Tuesday afternoon, saying, “The Biden Crime Family will go down as the most corrupt political family in American history.”

The post, shared at 2:35 p.m. MT, came hours before the Rifle Police Department announced on Facebook that Boebert’s 18-year-old son, Tyler, had been arrested and charged with 22 offenses at 2:30 p.m. local time.

After a string of vehicle and property thefts in the area, Tyler Boebert was charged with four counts of criminal possession of a financial device, three counts of first-degree criminal auto trespass with intent to commit crime, four counts of criminal possession of ID docs, one count of conspiracy to commit (felony), four counts of ID theft possession with intent to use, three counts of contributing to delinquency of a minor, and three counts of theft (of) less than $300, KKCO reported.

“Did Lauren Boebert post this before or after her son Tyler was arrested? 😂” one X user asked. “Like monster, like son, I guess.”

“Tweeted from the police station, while waiting for her son to post bail,” another wrote.

“Minutes after this, she got a call from the jail that her son was facing 22 charges, including delinquency of a minor,” a third said. “Family values, blah blah blah.”

Boebert, a staunch supporter of former President Donald Trump, is in a fight for her political future. After narrowly winning reelection in 2022, she announced in December that she would run in a more conservative district for 2024. She cited her family troubles and “children’s future” for the decision, calling it a “fresh start following a pretty difficult year for me and my family.”

But running in Colorado’s 4th Congressional District has come with its own challenges. A poll conducted Saturday by Kaplan Strategies found that 46 percent of likely GOP voters in her new district said they would not vote for a candidate who just moved to the district. About one-third of voters said they would support Boebert in the crowded primary race.

Boebert’s uphill reelection has also been riddled with her own personal drama. She made headlines in September after being escorted out of a performance of the Beetlejuice musical for allegedly vaping, yelling, groping and being disruptive during the show.

Her divorce from her husband, Jayson, with whom she shares four sons, has also been widely covered. Jayson has been arrested twice in the past year.

Last month, he was arrested on charges including misdemeanor assault and criminal mischief following an altercation with his ex-wife at a restaurant in Silt, Colorado. Three days later, he was arrested after Tyler accused his father of shoving him to the ground and arming himself. The congresswoman was granted a restraining order against her ex-husband this month.

Before she was elected, Boebert had been arrested at least four times over the past decade. She was arrested three times and issued a court-ordered summons at one point, all for petty crimes, records show.

“The Boebert Crime Family is approaching 100 total combined arrests, criminal charges and police contacts,” Ron Filipkowski, editor-in-chief of the progressive Meidas Touch, wrote in response to the congresswoman’s Tuesday tweet.

“Someone sounds jealous her family isn’t getting the recognition it deserves…” one X user said, while another asked, “Was your son arrested today, your ex last month, and how many times have you been arrested? How many of the Bidens have been arrested?”

“Biden ‘crime family’ are Boy Scouts compared to the thugs you’re raising in your family… armed with automatic weapons by their own mama,” another said, alongside a photo of Boebert and her children holding guns.
