Marjorie Taylor Greene Book Signing Photo Mocked

Marjorie Taylor Greene has been organizing signings around the country for her first book but people online are mocking her for how few people are turning up.

An outspoken figure in the Republican Party and a vocal supporter of former President Donald Trump, the Georgia congresswoman released her memoir, titled MTG—the initials by which she’s known by her supporters—on November 21.

In the book, Greene said she speaks of January 6, 2021, gives “inside stories about the Swamp you won’t hear anywhere else” and writes about “Jewish Space Lasers”—a reference to an antisemitic conspiracy theory she spread in 2021 when she said that the Rothschild banking family was behind an anti-Christmas plot.

Now she’s doing book signings so she can meet her readers—and it’s not going as well as she may have hoped. The congresswoman recently uploaded a picture of herself at a book signing in Daytona Beach to X, formerly Twitter, and she’s being mocked in the comments. Newsweek contacted Greene’s spokesperson by email for comment on Wednesday.

“Great book signing at the Iron Horse Saloon in Daytona Beach. So thankful to Bikers Against Trafficking for setting it up!” she wrote—but people online aren’t impressed by the turnout.

“You can’t even pull crowds in Daytona Beach? All that hate Ukraine, blame the victim, Russia-loving traitor drivel not working? Sad,” one person wrote.

“MAGA and Republicans have canceled you. You tried to profit off of J6 and now you’re signing books behind a rib tips shack,” said another.

“You signed one book??? What a loser!! Nobody wants to read your poisonous garbage!!!” a third person wrote.

A fourth person added: “I’ve seen bigger lines at Starbucks restroom.”

Jon Cooper, the Chairman of the Democratic Coalition Against Trump, also uploaded a picture of Greene’s signing to X. It was a similar picture to the one uploaded by Greene but the main difference was that it was taken from a further distance, showing just how few people turned up to the event.

He wrote alongside three cry-laughing emojis: “Huge crowd today at Marjorie Taylor Greene’s book signing in Daytona Beach.”

“Damn, not even tumbleweeds could be bothered to show up,” one person replied.

“Wow. There’s ones of people there,” said another.

A third added: “I was wondering where that one supporter was hiding.”

However, not everyone is taking the chance to make fun of Greene, as others took to the comment section of her post to show their support.

“I would love to have a beer with you!” said one.

“How did I not know about this? I would have totally came out,” a different X user commented.

“Congrats on all your Book Success!!” someone else wrote in support.

Greene isn’t happy with the criticism she has received over her book and in a video uploaded to Facebook by progressive YouTuber Brian Tyler Cohen, she has slammed people for trying to “cancel” it.

“You pathetic people in the media, you pathetic Democrats all over the country, you haven’t canceled it at all. As a matter of fact, I’m sitting here driving in the car for hours and hours signing books. You want to know why I’m signing books? Because I’m selling books,” she said, before directing people to her website to buy a copy.

She continued: “This is the book that the left does not want you to read because you want to know something, why? It’s my words. They can’t change the words in this book. These are my words. They can lie to you on television about what my words are but they can’t lie to you about the words in this book.

“So what are they trying to do? They’re trying to cancel my book signing events and they’re lying about me nationally and it’s pathetic and it’s disgusting and I’m so sick and tired of it but I have to thank every single person that is coming to my events and they are coming in large numbers.”

While Greene’s book was praised and promoted by Donald Trump on his social media platform Truth Social, the work also received widespread criticism, with late-night host Jimmy Kimmel slamming the memoir as Greene’s “dumbest idea yet.”

“Speaking of Christmas in hell, Marjorie Taylor Greene released a book today. It’s the first book she’s ever written or read, and it’s called MTG, it’s got a little bit of everything,” Kimmel said during an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!.
