Former President Donald Trump’s estranged niece Mary Trump on Friday celebrated the verdict in a defamation lawsuit that orders her uncle to pay E. Jean Carroll tens of millions of dollars in damages.

Mary Trump, a writer and prominent critic of her uncle, told her followers on X, formerly Twitter, to “take a minute to celebrate—we’ve all earned it. Drink Responsibly.”

Her message came after a federal jury in New York City ordered the former president to pay $83.3 million in damages to Carroll, who accused him of defaming her reputation as a journalist by denying he raped her nearly three decades ago.

Carroll claims Trump forcibly groped and then raped her in a Manhattan department store in the mid-1990s. In May, she was awarded $5 million by a different jury, which found Trump not liable for rape but responsible for sexually abusing Carroll and defaming her.

Donald Trump has denied any wrongdoing and has claimed that he had never heard of Carroll. He is also appealing the May decision and vowed to appeal Friday’s verdict.

“It’s official … Donald is the: 1st man in the Oval Office to be impeached twice. 1st man in the Oval Office to incite an insurrection. 1st to lose the popular vote TWICE. 1st to be INDICTED. 1st to be found liable for rape and defamation for $5 million. 1st to be ordered to pay $83.3 million damages for years of defamation,” Mary Trump wrote on X.

Newsweek reached out to a representative for Donald Trump via email on Friday night for comment.

She continued: “But the media is missing the biggest reason this is so important: For the victims of Donald, the beginning of some measure of justice.

“It’s been a long time coming, but after everything Donald has put this country through—thanks to the courage of E. Jean Carroll and the brilliance of [Carroll’s attorney] Robbie Kaplan—WE HAVE PREVAILED.”

Mary Trump plugged a coming story that will appear in her newsletter that she claimed would give “inside scoop on what Donald is going through,” before wrapping up with the call to celebrate with drinks.

Meanwhile, her uncle slammed the jury’s decision in a statement released after the verdict was announced.

“Absolutely ridiculous! I fully disagree with both verdicts, and will be appealing this whole Biden Directed Witch Hunt focused on me and the Republican Party,” Donald Trump’s message read. “Our Legal System is out of control, and being used as a Political Weapon. They have taken away all First Amendment Rights. THIS IS NOT AMERICA!”
