McDonald’s new themed Crocs are selling fast online and have surged to more than $100 online after debuting Thursday at select retailers for up to $75.

The fast-food chain has partnered with the footwear company to design a McDonald’s-inspired collection. Known as McDonald’s x Crocs, the lineup features several themes from the Hamburglar to Grimace, a mascot for the chain since the early 1970s who recently celebrated his birthday with a viral purple milkshake.

Just a day after the launch, they are tough to find, with StockX selling them at a premium. The Grimace version is now listed on the online marketplace for $124 before shipping and taxes, and just seven are left in stock at the time of writing. The classic McDonald’s Croc version is listed on StockX for $130.

Customers divided

At launch, customers left mixed views on the new Crocs lineup.

X, formerly Twitter, user misunderstnomad said: “i’m sad just knowing these are gonna sell like hot cakes.”

And trulytenzin said: “NOOOOO MY MONEY.”

Some negative reactions came from people who weren’t fans of Crocs to begin with.

“I didn’t think Crocs could get any uglier… man was I mistaken,” X user rcam_tv wrote.

“How the world is going right now I can’t be comfortable. I gotta be laced up and ready to move,” user guardianod said.

Many other X users called the McDonald’s Croc collection ugly.

But those who are fans and interested in buying them appear to favor the Grimace look.

“I need them Grimaces in a 13 please,” user oneheavytitan wrote.

And 21Cosmic1 wrote: “The grimace ones are gas actually.”

One fan of the entire collection who goes by inhuman on X told Newsweek that he likes them because they’re funny and added that the meme culture is big.

They plan to buy them once their size is available.

Crocs’ history of partnerships

When Crocs launched in 2002, they were designed for waterproof and outdoor activities. They were also known to feature 13 holes in each.

The brand has expanded to include several designs of popular shows and movies from Star Wars to Shrek.

Crocs typically sell anywhere from $30 to $120.

Currently, the McDonald’s Crocs variety is not listed on its website.
