Meghan Markle’s touching interaction with a group of school children on one of her first royal visits following her engagement to Prince Harry has gone viral, after footage of the couple’s trip to Wales in 2018 has resurfaced on TikTok.

Meghan and Harry’s royal work together and their experiences within the monarchy prior to their split from the institution in 2020 were spotlighted by the couple in their 2022 eponymous Netflix docuseries. The six-episode show explored the challenges faced by the duke and duchess with the press and royal household, as well as looking at their charitable and philanthropic interests.

Something Meghan has spoken about since her split from the royal family has been the significance that is placed on her title of “princess” by children, particularly young girls.

In a 2022 interview with The Cut, Meghan said she is “conscious of the fact that there are little girls that I meet and they’re just like, ‘Oh my God, it’s a real-life princess.'”

“I just look at all of them and think, ‘You have the power within you to create a life greater than any fairy tale you’ve ever read,'” Meghan told interviewer Allison P Davis. “I don’t mean that in terms of ‘You could marry a prince one day.’ I mean you can find love. You can find happiness. You can be up against what could feel like the greatest obstacle and then you can find happiness again.”

Uploaded to TikTok by user @topic1115 on March 27, footage of Meghan interacting with a group of young people during her time as a working member of the royal family in Britain has gone viral, gaining over 105,000 views on the platform so far.

Captured on camera during a trip to Cardiff in Wales in the months after her engagement to Prince Harry was announced, the visit was one of several made by the couple around Britain to introduce the public to their new, soon-to-be princess.

Captioned “She’s loved by many. Princess of heart,” Meghan is seen in the video receiving a group hug from young girls. The footage was captured as she and Harry observed a dance class.

In the original footage, Harry was seen introducing his future wife to the group, telling the excited children, “everyone give Meghan a big hug.”

The video has received in excess of 4,800 likes and over 620 comments, many of which have praised the royals.

“She is beautiful from inside out,” wrote one TikTok user of Meghan.

“She has a big heart,” posted another, with a further comment reading: “They clearly have a great vibe with people and children.”
