Meri Brown is resolutely searching for love on her terms. The former Sister Wives star, who split from her husband Kody Brown in 2023, has been open about her quest for a partner who is truly her equal.

During a revealing Instagram video shared on April 29, Meri shared insights into her dating life. “I have gone out on a few dates,” she stated. “Prince Charming has not arrived. I’m not really looking for a prince, no, I’m looking for a king.” She elaborated on her preference for a more mature partner, saying, “A prince is still a boy. I want a man who knows who he is.”

The reality star emphasized the importance of finding someone who matches her self-assurance and energy. “I want somebody who knows who he is and is confident in who he is,” she explained. “Because I know who I am and I’m confident in who I am and I need somebody who can match my energy. When we cross paths, we’ll know it.”

Following her divorce from Kody, 55, with whom she was legally married from 1990 to 2014 and shares a 28-year-old son Leon, Meri briefly dated a man named Amos Andrews. The couple became Instagram official in January when Meri turned 53. “Birthday #53 is looking a bit different for me this year, and might I say, I like how it looks! Meet Amos, the good looking guy I’ve been dating since October!” she shared in a now deleted post. Despite not meeting all her ideal attributes, she appreciated his qualities, noting, “He’s not 6 foot 6, nor is he a pilot, but he loves Christmas almost as much as I do, and we laugh a lot together, both of which are important elements to a relationship!”

Their relationship, however, was short-lived. In a February video update, Meri announced, “Last week, Amos and I did have a bunch of discussions and we decided to stop seeing each other. We just agreed that it just wasn’t going to be a long-term thing.” She expressed continued affection for Amos despite the split, “I still care about him. He still cares about me. He’s a good person. We’re just not each other’s long-term person.”

As Meri continues her search for her “king,” Kody remains legally married only to his fourth spiritual wife, Robyn Brown.
