Mia Khalifa has taken a swipe at Sara Netanyahu, after the wife of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a letter appealing for the release of hostages taken during the attack on southern Israel on October 7.

Israel’s war in Gaza erupted after Hamas’ deadly incursion killed 1,200 people and saw about 250 hostages taken back to Gaza. Israel’s subsequent airstrikes and invasion have killed about 30,000 Palestinians in the territory, many of them women and children, according to Reuters, citing Gaza’s health ministry. About 134 of the people kidnapped are still being held by Hamas.

On March 11, Israel’s Prime Minister’s Office shared Sara Netanyahu’s letter, which was addressed to the mother of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. In the letter, she appealed to Sheikha Moza bint Nasser Al-Missned to try to help bring about the release of the hostages that remain in Gaza.

“Ramadan, a time for compassion and generosity, reminds us of the strength we hold when we come together to uphold the values of peace and humanity,” she wrote. “It is in this spirit of unity and shared human values that I wish to address a matter of great urgency and importance—the plight of the [Israelis] abducted and held by Hamas in Gaza.”

“Woman to woman, it’s imperative to address that among the hostages, 19 women are enduring unimaginable hardships,” she went on. “Reports of sexual abuse and rape are horrifying, and such acts against women cannot be ignored or tolerated. It is a call to action that transcends political boundaries and speaks to our shared humanity and values.”

“I urge you, in the spirit of Ramadan, to leverage your significant influence to work towards the release of the Israeli hostages,” Sara Netanyahu stated. “We cannot remain silent or stand back when the dignity and safety of women are at stake.”

After the letter was shared on X, formerly Twitter, a number of social media users remarked on Sara Netanyahu’s signature in the letter. One mockingly shared a screenshot of the signature, alongside a caption that simply read “lol.”

Weighing in on the conversation, former adult film star Khalifa wrote of educational and career psychologist Sara Netanyahu: “Is she….. literate?”

As of press time, the post has garnered more than 550,000 views.

Last year, Khalifa lost business contracts after writing about Palestinian “freedom fighters” in a post on X, just hours after the October 7 Hamas attacks.

Following a wave of criticism, Khalifa, who has long been a vocal supporter of Palestinians, sought to clarify her comments in a follow-up statement on October 9.

“I just want to make it clear that this statement in no way shape or form is [inciting] spread of violence,” she said in a since-deleted post. “I specifically said freedom fighters because that’s what the Palestinian citizens are… fighting for freedom every day.”

Playboy was one of two companies that quickly severed ties with Khalifa. She was also publicly fired from her role as an adviser at Red Light Holland, which produces and distributes magic mushrooms.

Defending herself in October, Khalifa said on X: “I just wanna make sure there’s 4k footage of my people breaking down the walls of the open air prison they’ve been forced out of their homes and into so we have good options for the history books that write about how how they freed themselves from apartheid.”

The backlash included the release of a hip-hop track calling for Khalifa’s murder. The track is called “Charbu Darbu,” which the Times of Israel said is derived from Syrian Arabic and means “swords and strikes.” The publication reported that in Hebrew slang, it refers to “raining hell” on an opponent. The track is by duo Ness Ve Stilla, whose members are Nesia Levy and Dor Soroker.

In the concluding moments of the track, a list of “enemies” the pair wish to “X out” is shared, including Khalifa, model Bella Hadid and singer Dua Lipa—all of whom have spoken out in support of the Palestinian civilians affected by the conflict in Gaza.

“Every c***’s last day will come/ Bella Hadid, Dupa Lipa, Mia Khalifa,” they rap.

“Charbu Darbu,” which trended atop streaming platforms in Israel, caught the attention of Khalifa, who took aim at the style of the track in a post on X.

“Y’all that song calling for the IDF [Israel Defense Forces] to kill me, Bella, and Dua is over a DRILL beat,” she wrote, “they can’t even call for genocide in their own culture, they had to colonize something to get it to #1.”

The Palestinian civilian death toll and images of children dead in the rubble of bombed buildings have resulted in mounting international calls for a ceasefire and increased pressure on U.S. President Joe Biden to take a tougher line on Israel.

Despite the increasing condemnation over civilian deaths and demands for a ceasefire, Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly said the army will continue its offensive to destroy Hamas, bring home the remaining hostages and stop Gaza from posing a threat to his country.
